Wings Level welcomes Joshua, our new Flight Instructor

We are pleased to highlight Joshua’s involvement within Wings Level following the successful completion of his FI course with us.

Joshua is an airline pilot on the A320 and is now a qualified Flight Instructor (FI), having completed his instructor training at Wings Level. His training has been fully aligned with the Wings Level philosophy and standards, with a strong focus on safety, airmanship, and structured instructional principles.

Through the course, he further strengthened his instructional competencies and deepened his understanding of effective flight training delivery within a professional training environment.

Joshua’s airline experience on the A320, combined with his instructor qualification and training at Wings Level, brings valuable operational insight to our community and strengthens the connection between airline operations and ab initio instruction.

We look forward to his continued contribution to aviation training and to the added value he will bring to both students and fellow instructors.

Wings Level Welcomes Sébastien as a New Flight Instructor

We are proud to announce that Sébastien has successfully completed his internal training at Wings Level and is now joining our instructor team as a Flight Instructor (FI).

Sébastien has been trained within the Wings Level philosophy and standards, ensuring a strong alignment with our approach to safety, airmanship, and advanced flight training. After completing his instructor preparation with us, he is now ready to pass on his knowledge and passion for aviation to the next generation of pilots.

He will be actively involved in both PPL training and aerobatic (ACRO) instruction, supporting students from their very first steps in aviation through to more advanced handling skills. His enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement make him a valuable addition to our growing team.

Training instructors internally is a key part of the Wings Level vision. It allows us to develop professionals who truly understand our training culture, our safety mindset, and our dedication to building competent, confident, and resilient pilots.

We’re proud to share that Wings Level (CH.ATO.0328) and Air Espace (CH.ATO.0262) have formed a strategic training partnership aimed at strengthening pilot competence and safety across Switzerland.

Through this collaboration, Wings Level becomes the exclusive provider of Advanced UPRT and Aerobatic Rating courses for Air Espace students.

Air Espace, based in Colombier (Neuchâtel), has been a cornerstone of Swiss flight training for over 20 years—offering PPL, CPL, IR, and ATPL training supported by a skilled team and diverse fleet.

Wings Level, based at Birrfeld, brings specialised expertise in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)and aerobatics, with training led by airline instructors, examiners, and UPRT experts. Our programs are built on competency-based methodologies and conducted using platforms like the C150 Aerobat and the VOTEC 252T.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism, and marks a major step in raising the standard of advanced pilot training in Switzerland.

Evolving from a Declared Training Organisation (DTO) to a fully approved Approved Training Organisation (ATO)is a significant milestone, reflecting our commitment to excellence in pilot training.

It may look like just a piece of paper, but behind it are months of dedication, teamwork, and significant investment—all driven by our passion for advancing Swiss aviation.

As of March 21, 2025, Wings Level is officially certified as CH.ATO.0328, marking a major step forward.

Defy Gravity 2024 in Raron: Successful Aviation Event Focuses…

Raron, Switzerland — June 15, 2024 – The Defy Gravity 2024 event, organised by Wings Level, has successfully concluded in Raron, highlighting the critical theme of spin awareness, recognition, and recovery in aviation. Despite challenging weather conditions, the event saw enthusiastic participation from over 10 students, all keen to gain hands-on experience in this essential aspect of flight safety.

Held on June 15, 2024, in the scenic town of Raron, the event aimed to educate and inspire young aviation enthusiasts using real airplanes. Participants engaged in a series of practical exercises, learning to recognise and recover from spins through direct, real-world application.

Key Highlights of Defy Gravity 2024

Educational Workshops: Led by experienced pilots and aviation safety experts, these sessions covered the aerodynamics of spins, human factors influencing spin entry, and best practices for recovery. The theoretical knowledge provided a solid foundation for the practical exercises.
Hands-On Training with Real Aircraft: Students had the unique opportunity to apply their knowledge in real flight conditions. Under the guidance of seasoned instructors, they practiced recognizing spin entry and executing proper recovery procedures using actual airplanes. This hands-on experience was invaluable in helping them understand the dynamics of spins and how to manage them safely.
Practical Flight Exercises: Participants engaged in exercises that included identifying early signs of a spin, executing recovery manoeuvres, and understanding the impact of aircraft configuration and pilot actions during spin scenarios.

Looking Ahead

As the event wrapped up, participants were awarded certificates of achievement, recognising their hard work and dedication to improving flight safety. Organisers have already begun planning for next year’s Defy Gravity event, with aspirations to expand its reach and impact even further.

Static displays: Join us for an exclusive opportunity to explore a stunning array of aircraft. As part of our event, we are hosting a captivating static display featuring a variety of aircraft models starting from the oldest Swiss-registered plane to the first aerobatic place with electric propulsion.
