Ulf was born in 1977 near Helsinki in Finland. He started his aviation career at the age of 22 by moving to the United States for his flight training.

He went on to work as an instructor in the US, and a bit later he moved to Sweden where he was deeply involved in the development of a successful flight school. Ulf started his airline career in Finland, flying the Avro RJ for a Scandinavian Airlines subsidiary and a few years later he flew the same aircraft for Swiss. He then went on to work for Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, flying the Airbus A320 and A330 series of aircraft. In 2018 Ulf moved to Switzerland to fly for easyJet Switzerland.

Throughout his career Ulf has always had a keen interest for flight instruction and in improving training procedures and training aids.
